We are currently hosting Workshops in our area, and on Zoom, during the month of January to teach and create as many origami cranes as possible. There are 2 Workshops today!
We will deliver all cranes to the detention center in Burlington on Presidents Day, February 16, in the form of garlands to hang on trees and fences, or singles to lay on the ground. We plan to gather to create the garlands from Feb 2 - 15. We welcome you to join us.
For any questions, or further information on other upcoming workshops, both in person here in Salem, and on Zoom, visit the News page on this website, and scroll to the bottom the page for a list of dates and sign up form.
This action is inspired by the group Tsuru for Solidarity, a group of Japanese Americans who were interred in the concentration camps of World War II, as well as their family, friends, and allies. Established in 2018, among other actions, they had left origami cranes at detention centers in the US in opposition to concentration camps existing anywhere in our country, as well as the human rights violations occurring within.. Their motto: " Never again is now."

Need a new sign to take to those Saturday rallies? Or is the old one starting to look a little bit faded and ragged around the edges?! No worries! We can help you out here by doing a bit of repair and sign creation at our Sign Making Workshop. Feel free to bring any art supplies or pictures you want, but we have plenty here - you really don't need to bring a thing but your smile. Feel free to contact us for questions at salemscall@yahoo.com.

We are inspired by the work of Project Tsuru, a group of Japanese Americans and others, who are survivors, families and friends of those in concentration camps here in the US, in WWII. They are protesting the use of concentration camps in the US.For more info, click the button below.
